GreenHack 2025: Innovation for a Sustainable Future

On May 30–31, the fifth edition of GreenHack, Europe’s leading sustainability hackathon, brought together over 100 innovators and changemakers from nine countries at 42 Prague. In just 24 hours, teams tackled real-world environmental challenges posed by industry partners, creating prototype solutions aimed at supporting climate neutrality and more sustainable cities and businesses.

Jitka Čejková, representing VŠCHT Praha, once again took part as a jury member, contributing her expertise to evaluate the innovative solutions and support the next generation of green tech pioneers. She also had the honor of presenting the 3rd place award, recognizing the outstanding work of one of the top teams.

The winning project? A smart AI-powered chatbot that identifies waste types from photos and provides users with precise sorting instructions based on their current location—a tool with clear potential for real-world impact.

“GreenHack 2025 once again proved that young innovators can deliver world-changing ideas in just 24 hours,” said Tomáš Studeník, GreenHack organizer. “This year’s record international turnout and high quality of solutions show that sustainability is becoming a core focus for the tech community.”

Congratulations to all the participants for their passion, creativity, and drive to build a more sustainable future!
