International Summer in Our Laboratory

This summer, our laboratory had the pleasure of hosting four international students through the IAESTE and Erasmus mobility programmes. Their projects enriched our research environment and opened exciting new directions for collaboration.

Malgorzata Mrozik (Poland) explored droplet pattern formation phenomena that had not previously been observed in our systems. Her work revealed a completely new research direction for our laboratory, and we are very open to further collaboration in this emerging area.

Hibiki Taniguchi (Japan) became the first Japanese student to join our laboratory. She investigated fern-like structures formed after the drying of tear droplets. We plan to further develop this line of research in the autumn, especially in connection with the upcoming COST Action TEAR-PRECISION.

Furkan Saritas (Türkiye) worked on the preparation of core–shell alginate particles using an encapsulator system. During his internship, he systematically studied how different processing parameters influence the properties and morphology of the resulting particles.

Yuen Shan Wong (China) contributed to dissolution testing experiments, supporting ongoing research activities in close collaboration with members of our team.

We are grateful to all four students for their enthusiasm, dedication, and scientific curiosity.

At the end of their stay, all four students received University of Chemistry and Technology Prague hoodies as a small memento of their time with us. In the photo, they are proudly wearing their UCT Prague sweatshirts — a warm reminder of a productive summer filled with science, new friendships, and international collaboration.

Our laboratory is open to international collaboration. If you are interested in joining us for an internship or exchange stay, please feel free to contact Jitka — we are happy to explore new opportunities together.
