Many Voices, One Science at UCT Prague
It was a great honour for Jitka to co-organise the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague for the third time. This year’s theme, “Many Voices, One Science,” came vividly to life through an inspiring and diverse group of speakers representing academia, industry, diplomacy, and even the very beginning of a scientific journey.
From established professors to early-career researchers and a high school student already active in research, the morning brought authentic stories from behind the science — stories of motivation, challenges, setbacks, persistence, and growth. The event once again demonstrated the importance of creating spaces where different perspectives and experiences can meet, connect, and inspire.
A special thank you goes to Suada Djukaj for her excellent work in preparing the programme and moderating the event so smoothly. Warm thanks also belong to all speakers — Aleksandra Dumicic, Stella Gonsales, Albesjana Iberhysaj, Jana Krajcova, Edith Mawunya Kutorglo, Anna-Marie Lauermanová, Hana Macíčková Cahová, Filipa M. Oliveira, Adéla Podholová, Frantisek Stepanek, Anna Vanluchene, and Alexandr Zubov — as well as to all participants for contributing to such an open and inspiring atmosphere.
Events like this are a powerful reminder of why building supportive and inclusive scientific communities truly matters. We are already looking forward to next year.
