KreATivita&InovaCZe

Jitka Čejková was invited to Linz as a keynote speaker at the opening event of the Interreg project "KreATivita&InovaCZe", held on Thursday, November 21, at the LIT Open Innovation Center on the JKU Linz campus.

In her keynote talk, "Liquid Robots, Krakatit, and the Vision of ALife," Jitka explored the importance of breaking down disciplinary boundaries. A chemist and author, she drew fascinating connections between her research on liquid robots and artificial life (ALife), and the visionary work of Czech writer Karel Čapek, who famously coined the word “robot” in his 1920 play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots).

The event itself brought together professionals from the creative industries, science, and entrepreneurship in Upper Austria and South Bohemia. The aim? To build connections, inspire new collaborations, and increase visibility for the creative sectors across the region.

Joining Jitka in Linz was Eliška, who will be spending her summer semester at the LIT Open Innovation Center developing her own project.
